Strange Attractors

This website is still under construction. Expect things to break or not work. I do work on it actively though, and new stuff is added all the time. It should be equipped for basic needs as of now, but certain advanced features aren't implemented yet. See the to-do list for reference

The Canvas

That's the thing on the right. It's just a preview, the final export will be of higher quality. Scroll to zoom, drag right click to pan. If you are on mobile, switch to desktop.

Attractor

Here you can select which attractor type to render.

Configuration Values

Changing these values will affect the preview and the final render.

Canvas Size

Changes the size of the preview canvas.

Particle Count

How many particles will be sent out. The more particles, the more detailed and clean, but also the brighter it will appear. Think of it like the shutter speed of a camera.

Particle Iterations

Does the same thing as the particle count value. More iterations, more detail, more brightness. Think of it like the shutter speed of a camera too. Higher values paired with higher discard counts may be neccessary for some attractors to appear properly.

Discard first X iterations

Instead of using all iterations, the first few can be discarded. This is because all particles start in random positions instead of the shape of the attractor.

Particle Intensity

How much a single particle will be valued when coloring the attractor. Higher values will mean a bright image, but more noise. Think of it like the ISO of a camera.

Parameters

These parameters directly affect the attractor itself, changing its structure.

Coloring

In this section, you can configure the whole color gradient applied to the render. Please try keeping the gradient color stops in order, as changing the order may end in unexpected results. You can create a maximum of 8 stops at once.
